The MacDirtyCow exploit overwrites files on the iOS file system. This all-in-one tool offers tweaks for iOS 14.0 – iOS 16.1.2. This newly discovered exploit enables unauthorized access to read and write privileges on various versions of iOS operating systems.
MacDirtyCow is a kernel exploit that allows users on iOS 15.0 – 16.1.2 to experience jailbreak tweaks and themes, such as custom icons, a custom lock screen, a modified status bar, changing iOS sounds, supervising iOS, and so much more.
MacDirtyCow (CVE-2022-46689) was discovered by Ian Beer of Google Project Zero, but it does not allow jailbreaking devices. iOS users can use this to customize the iPhone view.
Note—If your device is at the latest iOS version—iOS 18.4 – iOS 16, please follow the newly released dirtyZero for customization (dirtyZero is a similar tool that uses another CVE (CVE-2025-24203) but is not as powerful as MacDirtyCow -Ian Beer of Google Project Zero also discovers it).

How to install MacDirtyCow IPA using AltStore
Step 01. Download and install AltStore on your iOS device.
Step 02. Use the above button to download the MacDirtyCow IPA file.
Open the AltStore app, then go to the “My Apps” tab.
Step 03. Tap the plus “+” icon at the top, then browse and select the downloaded MacDirtyCow IPA file.
Step 04. If you use AltSote for the first time, you will be asked to enter your Apple ID and password. AltStore requires it to sign the app so it can be installed. We recommend you use a burner account.
Step 05. The MacDirtyCow app will begin to install, and once completed, you can open it from your Home screen.
Install MacDirtyCow IPA with the Sideloadly Tool.
Step 01. Download & Install the latest version of Sideloadly for Windows or macOS.
Step 02. Download the MacDirtyCow IPA file.
Step 03. Connect your iDevice to your PC using a USB cable.
Step 04. Open the installed Sideloadly app on your PC.
You may be prompted to install the Mail Plug-in. Click the “Yes” button to continue.
Enter your Apple ID email under the “Apple account” field.
Step 05. Drag and drop the MacDirtyCow IPA file into the IPA field shown on the left side of the interface. An IPA image represents the field.
Step 06. Click the “Start” button to begin the sideloading and installing the IPA.
When prompted, enter your Apple ID password. The tool uses your Apple ID to sideload the app. We recommend you use a burner account.
Step 07. Sideloadly will start installing dirtyZero IPA on your iDevice.
Step 08. Once the app is installed, please don’t open it yet. You must verify your Apple ID profile if this is your first time using Sideloadly. To do this, go to Settings > General > Device Management. Tap on your Apple ID and press the Trust button. Tap on Trust again from the pop-up alert.
Step 09. Now go to the Home screen to open the installed app.

vIa TrollStore
TrollStore is a permanently signed jailed iOS app that can permanently sign and install any IPA installer, supporting iOS 14.0, iOS 15, iOS 16, and iOS 17.0. It works by using AMFI/CoreTrust to verify that the root certificate is used to sign the app and not revoke it.
